MY media identity
MY INTRODUCTION
Hi! my name is Wania and I am a media student, I see myself as someone who learns best through practical work. I understand concepts more clearly when I apply them whether it’s experimenting with camera angles, editing short clips, or analysing scenes from films and music videos. I don’t consider myself perfect or highly skilled yet, but I am someone who improves quickly when I practise consistently.
During my AS year, I realised that I pay attention to detail. Even small elements like lighting, shot placement, colour grading, and pacing stand out to me. This helps me understand how meaning is constructed in media texts. At the same time, I know I need to keep developing stronger technical skills, especially in editing software and camera handling.
One thing that motivates me is the creative freedom media offers. I enjoy planning, organising, and shaping visual ideas from initial concepts to a final product. I also value being able to communicate stories, emotions, and representation through visuals whether it’s a music video, film opening, or any media product.
Overall, I would describe myself as a developing media learner who is willing to experiment, reflect on mistakes, and push myself to improve. My goal for A2 is to become more confident with advanced production techniques, work more independently, and produce a final product that shows clear progress from last year.
