Core Message of My Music Video
The core message of my music video is that genuine emotional connection is built on innocence, respect, and unspoken understanding rather than physical closeness or explicit romance. Through the song “Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Zindagi Mein Aaye” by Nazia Hassan, I want to represent love as something soft, pure, and emotionally grounding, not something loud, dramatic, or sexualised. My music video will focus on the idea that love can exist quietly in memories, gestures, and small shared moments, which makes it stronger and more meaningful than exaggerated romantic displays. This challenges the modern media portrayal of love, which often relies on physical attraction and intense drama, and instead brings attention back to emotional depth and simplicity.
This message will be shown through the use of nostalgic visuals, calm pacing, and symbolic moments rather than a complex storyline. For example, instead of showing a couple physically interacting, I will show separate shots of two individuals in similar emotional states, such as looking at the sky, holding a book, or walking in quiet spaces, to suggest connection without direct contact. This reflects how emotional bonds can exist even when people are apart. The use of soft lighting and warm colour tones will further support the idea of comfort and emotional safety.

My message is also influenced by how older romantic media, especially from the 1980s and 1990s, portrayed love as innocent and emotionally driven rather than physically explicit. Nazia Hassan’s music itself represents a time when romance in South Asian media was expressed through melody, lyrics, and atmosphere rather than bold physical interaction. By choosing this song, I am intentionally connecting my video to that era’s emotional purity. This strengthens my message because the song already carries a sense of softness and sincerity that modern pop music often lacks.

Additionally, my music video aims to communicate that love does not always need a happy ending or direct fulfillment to be meaningful. Sometimes, love exists only as a memory or a feeling that shapes a person emotionally. For example, showing an empty bench, an untouched book, or a quiet room after someone has left can suggest that connection still remains even in absence. This presents love as something internal and lasting rather than dependent on physical presence.
