Risk and content consideration

In planning my music video, I carefully considered the potential risks related to both filming safety and sensitive content, ensuring that the final product remains appropriate while still effectively communicating my ideas.

From a production perspective, filming in outdoor locations such as roads and near water presents certain safety risks. To manage this, I selected quiet and controlled locations with minimal traffic and ensured that all movement during filming is planned and supervised. When filming near the river, extra care will be taken to maintain a safe distance from the water, and no dangerous actions will be performed.

Low lighting conditions are also an important part of my visual style; however, they can reduce visibility during filming. To prevent accidents, additional lighting will be used behind the scenes where necessary, even if it is not visible in the final shot. Camera equipment will be placed on stable surfaces to avoid damage or injury.

In terms of content, my music video includes themes such as regret, isolation, and references to a character’s past, which could be interpreted as sensitive. I have intentionally avoided showing any explicit violence or harmful actions. Instead, I use symbolic and suggestive visuals to communicate meaning. For example, potentially sensitive moments are implied through editing and visual cues rather than being directly shown.

The ending of the video is also handled carefully. While it suggests a serious emotional outcome, it remains ambiguous and does not explicitly depict harmful behaviour. This ensures that the video remains suitable for an academic context and aligns with general media guidelines.

Additionally, I ensured that all participants involved in the production are fully informed and comfortable with the concept and their role. Clear communication is maintained throughout the process to avoid misunderstandings or discomfort during filming.

Overall, by considering both physical risks and content sensitivity, I aim to create a music video that is safe to produce and appropriate to present, while still maintaining its emotional and symbolic depth.
